Today, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation announced the launch of a new handset on the market in Europe, namely the HTC Gratia. The new device, unheard of before, seems to be nothing more than the European version of the company's HTC Aria, already available for purchase in the US via AT&T, as well as in Australia.

According to the company, the new mobile phone is expected to become available for purchase via wireless carriers in major markets around the old continent starting with November 2010.

The new handset comes to shelves with style and functionality packed inside a sleek and compact design. The phone sports a seamless wrap-around soft-cover so that no hard edges are present into the mix.

Moreover, the phone comes with Google's Android 2.2 operating system on board, as well as with a five megapixel color camera with auto focus, and weighs in at 4.06 ounces.

“HTC’s mantra is to provide a unique mix of experience and choice to people using our phones,” said Florian Seiche, President of HTC Europe, Middle East and Africa.

“HTC Gratia offers something completely different. Its compact size, beautiful design and power with Android 2.2, combined with its personalized experience through HTC Sense, is uniquely compelling. We can’t wait to bring HTC Gratia to our customers in Europe.”

The new HTC Gratia boasts a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen, along with a 600MHz Qualcomm processor, 512MB of ROM and 384MB of RAM, as well as digital compass, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor.

The specifications list of the new handset also includes Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and dual band 900/2100 HSPA/WCDMA connectivity, as well as 3.5mm headphone socket, and built-in GPS receiver.

The new Android device also comes with the popular HTC Sense solution on board, which was designed so as to make the handset work in a more personal and natural way.

With HTC Sense, users get fast access to various communication channels via Friend Stream, which brings all Facebook, Twitter and Flickr updates into a single, organized flow of updates, so that people can stay connected with friends and family easier than before.

The mobile phone measures 103.8 x 57.7 x 11.7 mm and weighs in at 115g. Unfortunately, no info on its pricing was unveiled at the moment.
