At the Open Mobile Summit London, set to take place between June 8-9, mobile phone makers around the world are expected to discuss the future of larger mobile devices this year, and tablet PCs would be high on the agenda, it seems.

Corporate Vice Presidents of Motorola, LG Electronics and Sony Ericsson are expected to meet with HTC’s President Europe and CCS Insight’s Ben Wood in London to discuss the future of devices.

Apparently, a large OEM plans on showcasing new tablets at the event, though specific info on the matter were not unveiled for the time being.

One way or the other, these manufacturers are expected to talk about new ways to overcome Apple in the tablet PC war.

Stephen Elop, Nokia’s CEO would be offering the keynoting, and should provide a series of details on the manner in which Nokia would take advantage of the newly signed agreement with Microsoft.

Both companies are behind Google's Android and Apple's iOS, and they should offer info on how their teaming would help in the war against those two rivals.

“Elsewhere in the agenda, Amazon’s mobile category lead, Aaron Rubenson shares how Amazon hopes to monetize Android with their new app store,” the announcement coming from Open Mobile Summit reads.

In addition to discussions on mobile operating systems and devices, ideas on applications, content, services and the like are also expected to be shared during the event.

“Jonas Bonnier CEO Bonnnier, Charlie Redmayne EVP Harper Collins, Rob Grimshaw MD FT.com and Rick Levine SVP Consumer Publishing at Conde Nast explore the future of publishing in the tablet era,” the announcement reads.

Claire Tavernier SEVP FMX at FremantleMedia and Olivier Wers CEO Endemol World wide brands would be there along with BSKyB, You Tube, Sony Music and social gaming leader Playfish to talk about the manner in which mobile multi-screen media would evolve on smartphones, tablets and connected TVs.

“This is a real meeting of minds of the power players across the global converging mobile, Internet and media industry” says organizer, Robin Batt “We cap attendance to ensure intimate networking amongst these world–leaders, and I’m delighted to say that the event is sure to sell out this year.”
