HTC Knight, the long rumored mobile phone that should bring Android to the airwaves of wireless carrier Sprint in the United States, has just made another unofficial appearance into the wild, in a photo that shows its sliding QWERTY keyboard in all of its glory.

It was already known that this device would include a sliding keypad when made available for purchase on shelves, but we weren't able to have a look at it until now.

The HTC Knight made it to the headlines quite a few times before, with rumors suggesting that it might arrive on shelves as the EVO Shift 4G, the successor of the keyboard-less EVO 4G.

The handset looks pretty appealing, and the photo attached to this article, available courtesy of a post on sprintusers, shows exactly that.

According to the previous reports on this device, it should arrive on shelves with a touchscreen display that would be around 4 inches large.

A recent article on Android Guys suggests that the screen would be 3.7-inches large, the same as the T-Mobile G2 smartphone, aka Desire Z, which was released on shelves only recently.

No confirmation on this emerged for the time being, even if the keyboard resembles the one present on G2. However, with HTC EVO 4G boasting a 4.3-inch display, its successor is expected to sport a similar screen.

Other rumored specs of this device include an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, a 1GHz Snapdragon application processor inside, and support for WiMax.

The handset is expected to arrive on the market with Google's Android 2.2 operating system, on board, though the inclusion of the new Gingerbread flavor of the platform might not be excluded either.

For the time being, the available rumored details on this mobile phone point towards a January 9th release date, which means that it might not be too long before it is announced officially. Keep an eye on this space for additional info on it.
