Or is it Stella?

A pretty strange announcement popped up on O2's website, promising to bring out on the market this December the Xda Stellar smartphone. The device seems to be nothing else but the HTC Kaiser that is already available on several markets.

What's rather fishy on this announcement is that O2 got a slip on the handset's name. It's all as official as it gets, but the Xda is called at one spot Stella and, a little bellow, Stellar. Sounds like a pretty androgynous device and a problem with O2 making up its mind on the name.

No matter how it will be called, the handset packs just the same evolved performances. It runs Windows Mobile 6, which makes it one of the top smartphones out there. Moreover, it is 3G enabled, which should manage to bring some of the fastest data transfer speeds to its user.

The quad-band handset also supports Microsoft Direct Push Email, which means that its owner will benefit from the most evolved communication solutions. Connectivity is also available through WiFi, while Bluetooth and USB should also come as default features with such high-end mobile phones.

The 3-megapixel camera is pretty impressive and its capture quality is better than in many other smartphones, which scores another advantage for O2's device. The phone brings entertainment through an MP3 player and FM radio, making it a handset capable of providing both fun and business solutions. Still, this is a new feature for the device, hopefully not another mistype from O2, as they have done a rather sloppy job with this announcement.

HTC Kaiser, or Xda Stella, or Xda Stellar will arrive at O2 in December, just in time to make it for the winter holidays. The carrier made no specifications on the handset's price and release terms.
