Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is set to make more of its users happier in the near future, as it is currently working on the delivery of an official solution for unlocking the bootloader on HTC EVO 3D.

The smartphone was just made available for purchase in the United States via wireless carrier Sprint, and should arrive on the market in Europe as well.

Yesterday, HTC announced the upcoming availability of EVO 3D in Europe, with the same 3D capture capabilities as for the US counterpart.

One other thing that is included in both units is a locked bootloader, which made a lot of users unhappy, some of them even saying that they would move away from HTC if the company did not make a move to change this.

However, the HTC EVO 3D should soon receive an unlocked bootloader, at least this is what HTC suggested in a recent comment on its Facebook page.

When asked about the unlocked bootloader, the company said that they were “diligently working” on releasing a software update to enable this.

A similar move will be made for the company's HTC Sensation smartphone, which was launched on shelves several weeks ago.

Responding to users' concerns on the limitations the company imposes with the locked bootloaders, HTC said that it planned on changing its policy on the matter, so that users could install the software they like on their devices.

The same as HTC Sensation, the EVO 3D will receive a software update to unlock the bootloader, as the handset vendor just promised.

However, there is no telling on how long it will take before the software update is released to end users. HTC decided to change its approach towards bootloaders only recently, and there is certainly a lot of work to be done before all aspects of the real are finalized.

In the meantime, you can have a look at HTC's Facebook page to learn more on the discussion regarding the EVo 3D bootloader.
