Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has just announced the upcoming availability of a new smartphone, the HTC Explorer, an affordable handset that runs under Google's Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS, and features the HTC Sense UI on top.

The new mobile phone arrives on the market with a compact design, featuring a 3.2-inch touchscreen display that can deliver an HVGA resolution, and with a 3-megapixel photo snapper on the back.

The new mobile phone is expected to become available for purchase in various countries in EMEA and Asia starting with the fourth quarter of the year, in Metallic Black, Active Black and Metallic Navy.

At the same time, it will offer users the possibility to customize their HTC Explorer with a range of optional back covers that include Metallic Blue, Metallic Orange, Metallic White and Metallic Purple.

“HTC Explorer is an easy-to-use smartphone that puts the customer in control, providing quick access to their most important content and information,” said Jason Mackenzie, president of global sales and marketing, HTC Corporation.

HTC Explorer is simply a smarter phone for anyone and it represents another clear demonstration of HTC's global commitment to expanding the market for advanced smartphones.”

The upcoming device will offer users the possibility to easily stay connected with their friends and family through social networking sites, and also to enjoy fast Internet browsing while on the go.
