14 DAY TRIAL // Today, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has officially announced four new smartphones running under Google’s Android operating system, namely the Desire 700, Desire 601, Desire 501, and Desire 300.
All four devices were launched in Taiwan today, yet not all of them are new handsets. As Android Community notes, the Desire 601 and Desire 300 were announced at the IFA 2013 show in Berlin in September.
The HTC Desire 700, however, is a brand new smartphone, seemingly targeted at the mid-range market, courtesy of its 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
The mobile phone also sports a 5-inch touchscreen display, capable of offering a 960 x 540 pixel resolution, as well as 1GB of RAM inside.
Furthermore, the new handset packs 8GB of internal memory, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, and a 2.1MP front camera. Furthermore, Desire 700 will hit shelves with dual-SIM capabilities packed inside.
The new HTC Desire 501, on the other hand, comes with a bit lower hardware specifications, though it can still be seen as a mid-level smartphone.
The handset is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM, and sports a 4.3-inch touchscreen that delivers an 800 x 480 pixels resolution, along with 8GB of internal memory.
The same as the Desire 700, the new HTC Desire 501 features an 8-megapixel camera on the back, along with 2.1MP front camera for making video calls, as VR-Zone notes.
The HTC Desire 601 features a 4.5-inch 960 x 540 pixels screen, a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. It also comes with a 5MP camera on the back.
As for Desire 300, it was launched with a 4.3-inch 854 x 480 pixels screen, a 1GHz dual-core CPU, and 512MB of RAM. The phone also features 4GB of internal memory, and a 5-megapixel camera on the back.
HTC has also unveiled the prices that these phones will sport in Taiwan, with Desire 700 priced at 13,900 NTD ($470/€346), and Desire 501 set to cost 9,900 NTD ($335/€246).
The previously unveiled HTC Desire 601 arrives on shelves with a price tag of 10,900 NTD ($368/€271), while the Desire 300 will cost 7,900 NTD ($267/€196), being the most affordable of the four.
