Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is reportedly getting ready for the release of some new smartphones, including a HTC Inspire, as the company has filed a trademark application filed with the USPTO recently.

In all fairness, nothing is known specifically on what the handset would be all about, but it might not be long before details on it emerge, especially since some other similar devices from the company were spotted not too long ago.

We already reported on HTC Freestyle and HTC 7 Melody handsets that the company would plan on bringing to shelves in the not too far future.

Unlike other companies, HTC is known launch a handset for any name it trademarks, and the HTC Inspire is expected to soon become a real smartphone, the same as Verizon's HTC Trophy and HTC Merge.

Until more on this device emerges, we should have a look at another handset from the company, one that has just received Wi-Fi Alliance certification with the model number PG05100.

For the time being, the list of known specifications for the PG05100 includes WiFi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity options, along with WMM Power Save features.

Moreover, it appears that the new mobile phone was CWG-RF-certified, and that it sports the same Wi-Fi profile as six other HTC handsets, including the HTC Merge and HTC Vision (Desire Z).

According to the guys over at pocketnow, the unannounced device might be similar with the already rumored HTC Knight, which was previously said to sport the name of HTC Evo Shift 4G, though it might no longer feature it.

The new handset is expected to land on shelves with a similar set of capabilities as the HTC Knight, though with a series of modifications, most probably on the hardware part.

For the time being, however, nothing is official on the matter, and all these are only suppositions. Hopefully, it won't be too long before more info on this emerges, so keep an eye on this space to learn the news.
