Introduced earlier this year, one of the first AT&T 4G smartphones, the Inspire 4G is now on sale via Amazon Wireless for only $29.99 with a new two-year agreement.

However, this is not the first time that Amazon axed the phone's price.

As soon as HTC Inspire 4G went online via AT&T for $99.99, the major retailer had the smartphone available on its website for just $59.99 on contract after an instant rebate.

Showcased back in January, at the 2011 CES event in Las Vegas, the HTC Inspire 4G is a quad-band GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and dual-band HSDPA 850 / 1900 smartphone.

The smartphone was the subject of an issue that made owners of the Inspire 4G unable to use its HSUPA download speeds at full capacity.

Fortunately, the carrier fixed the issue with a minor software update, so users can now upload data at the phone's maximum potential.

Furthermore, the Inspire 4G is equipped with a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor, complemented by an Adreno 205 GPU (graphics processing unit).

Obviously, it features the Android 2.2 Froyo platform out-of-the-box, but it appears that Gingerbread upgrade is on the way some time later this year.

With its huge 4.3-inch S-LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 480 x 800 pixels resolution, the Inspire 4G is indeed a massive device.

When it comes to connectivity, the Inspire 4G is an all-rounder, as it is fully capable of HSDPA 14.4 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76 Mbps, and offers users a wide range of connectivity options: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA function, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and EDR support, as well as GPS with A-GPS support.

The phone packs 4 GB on internal memory, 768 MB RAM, and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB included).

It also boasts an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, dual-LED flash, face detection and camcorder (720p).

It is powered by a standard Li-Ion 1230 mAh battery, rated for 372 hours of standby mode or 6 hours of talk time.
