A few days ago, mobile phone carrier AT&T has added to its offering a new smartphone running under Google's Android operating system, the HTC Inspire 4G, a device that can connect to the operator's upgraded HSPA+ network.

The smartphone went on sale at AT&T on February 13th with a price tag of $99.99 attached to it, and it is already available for less for those who would commit to a contract agreement with the carrier.

Amazon Wireless has the smartphone available on its website for only $59.99 on contract after instant rebates, with the signing of the agreement on a qualifying monthly plan.

Those who would like to purchase the HTC Inspire 4G from Amazon should benefit from free two-day shipping.

The new smartphone arrives on the market with a large 4.3-inch Super LCD touchscreen display on board, and with a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor packed inside.

The handset also includes an 8-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and HD (720p) video recording capabilities. The phone also sports HD video play back capabilities, as well as other multimedia features, such as Dolby Mobile + SRS WOW HD surround sound.

The Inspire 4G was built from a single piece of aluminum, and provides users with enhanced connectivity options, including WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G support, AT&T Mobile Hotspot service, or 3.5mm headphone jack.

“The Inspire 4G also offers the next-generation HTC Sense user interface experience, which includes quicker startup times from hibernation mode as well as a consolidated view of your favorite social networking sites,” Amazon explains.

“You also get the AT&T Mobile Hotspot service built right into the smartphone--enabling you to connect additional Wi-Fi-enabled devices to the phone's mobile broadband signal.”

The phone runs under Google's Android 2.2 operating system (Froyo), and comes with support for Google Mobile services, as well as with pre-loaded content like eReader or BLOCKBUSTER apps, and with the possibility to download and install more of them via the Android Market.
