HTC Incredible S, one of the Android-based handsets unveiled during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last week, is said to be in stock in the UK today, with pre-ordered units said to start shipping as soon as tomorrow.

The new smartphone lands in the country via Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy, and is listed on Mobiles.co.uk too, part of the Carphone Warehouse.

Apparently, those UK users who managed to pre-order a HTC Incredible S unit would have the opportunity to receive their handsets as soon as Saturday, February 26th.

Those who were not so lucky would be able to purchase the smartphone starting with Thursday, March 3, 2011, in line with some of the previous rumors on the matter. Initially, the smartphone was set to land in the UK sometime in April.

The smartphone arrives on shelves in the UK with specifications similar to those available with the DROID Incredible, available for purchase at the moment in the United States on the airwaves of Verizon Wireless.

The new Incredible S runs under Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, while packing a 1GHz application processor inside, 768MB of RAM, and 1.1-GB of internal memory. A microSD memory card slot enables users to expand the available storage space.

The handset also comes with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back with video recording capabilities, complemented by a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front for video calling.

Another appealing feature of this device would be the HTC Sense user interface that its maker threw on top of Google's Android operating system.

As stated above, the mobile phone would run Froyo when made available for purchase, but HTC might upgrade it to a newer flavor of the Android platform in the near future.

In the meantime, those who would like to purchase the HTC Incredible S in the UK would find it listed at Carphone Warehouse here, as well as on Mobiles.co.uk here. The SIM free device would cost £499.95, but contract options are available too.
