Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is gearing up for the release of new devices that would run under the Windows Phone operating system, and two of them have just been confirmed as on their way to the Netherlands, namely the HTC Ignite and HTC Prime.

The two smartphones were already spotted into the wild before, when they were said to be on their way to the market with the Windows Phone Mango OS on board, but no other details on this have emerged until now.

However, courtesy of Dutch mobile phone retailer The Phone House (a subsidiary of Carphone Warehouse), we now know for a fact that both handsets will arrive on the market in the near future, and that they would pack Microsoft's mobile OS.

Unfortunately, although it listed them on its coming soon page, the retailer did not offer specific info on the availability date, and we have no idea on when they might hit the shelves.

One way or the other, we can assume that these smartphones would be among the first Windows Phone devices to be launched with the new Mango platform flavor on board.

When available, the two smartphones are expected to pack appealing hardware specs, although they might land on shelves as mid-level devices.

Both are said to arrive with 3.7-inch touchscreen displays, though it seems that the HTC Prime will be a side-slider, while the HTC Ignite will sport a bar form factor.

HTC Prime is also said to pack 512 MB of RAM, along with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with LED flash and, most probably, video recording capabilities.

The HTC Ignite should arrive on shelves with 512 MB of RAM too, and with a 5 MP camera, just as Prime. At the same time, it is rumored to pack an 800 MHz processor. The phone's screen should boast a WVGA (800 x 480 pixel) resolution.
