It would seem that makers of consumer-oriented devices are already establishing shipment goals for the year 2011, and HTC is reported to have set its sights on a fairly solid figure as far as its newest tablet is concerned.

At the ongoing Mobile World Congress expo in Barcelona, quite a few products have been put on display.

Our colleagues on the site even managed to get their hands on a fair amount of them, like the ViewSonic ViewPad 10, ZTE's V11 slate and Acer's Iconia Tab A100.

Earlier, we also managed to get a clear look at the HTC Flyer, and its maker is now reported to have established a shipment goal for it.

Verily, quite a few outfits have set their sights on this or that number of tablet sales for the year 2011, like ASUS (which expects 1.5-2 million tablet shipments in total).

According to Digitimes, HTC hopes to be able to sell about 1.5 million Flyer by the end of December, something that may very well happen, considering that Samsung managed to sell just as many Galaxy Tab in 2010.

Financially, this means that the gadget will contribute about NT$3 billion in revenues, which is the equivalent of US$102 million.

For those that want an update on the specification, Flyer is a 7-inch slate based on a 1.5 GHz application processor.

Its screen has a native resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels while the amount of internal storage is 32 GB, though a microSD card slot lets one expand it.

The company also threw in two webcams, one of them being set on the front (1.3 megapixels, for video chat) and the other one at the back (5 megapixel webcam for video recording).

Sales of the HTC Flyer should start in the second quarter and two more tablet PCs should debut before the year is out.
