One of the nicest mobile phones that have been released during the ongoing year, the Android-based HTC Hero, might come to the United States market at the beginning of the fourth quarter, the latest rumors on the Web suggest. Moreover, it seems that the device is expected to land on the airwaves of one of the carriers in the country, namely Sprint.

In case this proves true, starting October 11, Sprint subscribers will have the opportunity to choose from a series of attractive devices the carrier delivers to them, including the Palm Pre and the BlackBerry Tour 9630, to name just two of the newest. As the wireless operator has already pointed out that the company is preparing the launch of Android devices, it wouldn't come too much as a surprise to see the HTC Hero in its offering in the end.

The news on handset's arrival surfaced on the xda-developers forums and comes from a “senior member” who already made claims regarding the move. On the other hand, it seems that this is the first time when he backs his statement with a picture that also shows other devices supposedly on their way towards Sprint's lineup.

Among the other phones, we can count a Samsung Q, also running under Android, a device that might turn into the already rumored InstinctQ, and which was supposed to be already launched with the carrier, as well as the BlackBerry Aries, which has been recently reported to be on its way to Verizon too, being nothing else than the CDMA version the Curve 8520.

Another handset on the list could be the LG LX610 / Lotus 2, which is a new device at the moment, but might not be a great surprise to many as Sprint registered a little bit of a success with it. Hopefully, the list is real and these phones will make their way into the US via Sprint. Stay tuned to learn more details on this.
