According to the latest news on the Internet, Sprint's subscribers might see the HTC Hero launched on their carrier's airwaves in the near future. The handset has been almost confirmed, Engadget reports, and a CDMA flavor should soon become available for purchase in the country. It's rather uncertain whether Sprint will have the device exclusively on its network or not, yet it will certainly have it.

As many of you might already know, the third mobile phone released by HTC with Google's Android operating system will not find its way into T-Mobile USA's offering; other carriers are expected to bring it to the market. The handset has already been spotted at FCC, with support for 850 / 1900MHz frequencies, and the rumors point towards AT&T as the operator to have it.

However, the new pieces of information point towards Sprint as the most possible carrier for the Hero. According to Engadget, the phone is already listed on HTC's support page as heading towards the wireless operator. The launch makes sense for a wide range of reasons, including the fact that Sprint already announced plans to deliver Android phones to its users.

Back in June, rumor had it that the Hero was already being tested by Sprint, while HTC also unveiled the fact that it planned to launch a North American version of the device before the year's end. A recently leaked document from Sprint also showed that the phone was expected to come to the carrier, placing its launch at the beginning of October.

The new support page that surfaced is one more detail that shows Sprint and HTC are gearing up for the launch of the handset. Specific details on the availability and pricing of the phone are to be unveiled in the future. At the same time, we should also learn soon whether the HTC Hero will come to Sprint with the same “with Google” logo the T-Mobile myTouch 3G came with today. Stay tuned to learn more on this.
