Its Rosie UI as well

The Android 1.5 platform, also referred to as the Cupcake update, hasn't been released into the wild in the United States, and there are a lot of users who are eagerly waiting for it to surface, at least to make an idea of the features that it is set to come with. However, it seems that they can have a taste of all those goodies already, only that now they come from a different source.

As many of you might already know, the next HTC mobile phone expected to hit the shelves while running under Google's Android operating system is the HTC Hero. It seems that Haykuro from XDA-Developers managed to grab the latest Android build for the device and publish a video to show us the nice features it should come with.

The HTC Hero ROM that can be seen in the videos below has been ported onto the T-Mobile G1, the first Android-based mobile phone, and we must say that it looks great. Enthusiasts will be able to enjoy the Android they love, though it seems that there are also a series of newly redesigned apps like the browser, calendar or the music player.

Although the new features and looks might leave the impression that the handset runs under the unannounced Android Donut, the Android 2.0 version of the platform, which should surface in the near future, it seems that it actually is the Cupcake that powers the Hero.

In another video, where the HTC Hero ROM is running in an emulator, we can spot the new user interface coming from the maker, which is said to be called Rosie. Basically, the new UI for the Android is reported to act in about the same manner as the HTC TouchFLO 3D UI does for the Windows Mobile operating system.
