HTC HD7, the largest mobile phone to run under Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 operating system, is now available for purchase on the Canadian market via wireless carrier Bell.

The wireless services provider announced a few days ago the upcoming availability of this smartphone on its network, and has already made the device available for its customers.

The new Windows Phone 7 device can be purchased from Bell either with the signing of a new contract agreement, or free of contract. The no contract price was set at $599.95.

Those who would opt for a contract agreement will pay for the device either $99.95, $449.95, or $474.95, depending on the contract length they would opt for, namely three years, two years, or one year, respectively.

“With the world’s largest Windows Phone 7 smartphone screen, surround sound and Xbox LIVE integration, the HTC HD7 is the perfect mobile movie theatre and portable gaming console,” the wireless carrier notes on its website.

The specifications list of the new smartphone would include a 4.3-inch touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 800 pixels resolution, along with a 5-megapixel photo snapper with dual-LED flash, auto focus, and HD video recording (720p).

The HTC HD7 is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and packs 16 GB of internal memory.

Moreover, the new Windows Phone 7 device would also offer support for 3G connectivity on the carrier's network, as well as for Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 capabilities.

The handset also comes with built-in GPS receiver and with support for location-based applications, as well as with a 3.5 mm headset jack, and with a battery that can offer up to 5.3 hours of talk time, or up to 13.3 days of standby time. The HTC HD7 measures 122 x 66.4 x 11.2 mm and weighs in at 162 grams.
