T-Mobile customers in the United States are getting closer and closer to the released date of a high-end device on their carrier's airwaves, the HTC HD2, and the latest rumors in the area suggest that the launch of the mobile phone might be closer than expected. While T-Mobile remains at the same Spring time frame for the launch as before, rumor has it that mid-march could be the lucky day for enthusiasts.

According to some of the previous reports on the matter, T-Mobile USA was set to deliver the high-end HTC HD2 to its users as soon as March 24 was here, yet it seems that it might actually make the move even faster than that. There are no official details on the matter, and all might prove in the end to be nothing more than a rumor, but it is also possible that HD2 will land in mid-March in the United States, and many will rejoice if it does.

There are a wide range of appealing features that this Windows Mobile 6.5-powered mobile phone will bring along when launched on T-Mobile's airwaves, including an advanced typing technology coming from Swype. The experience delivered by this solution is pretty impressive, one should agree, and those who are not yet familiar with what it is all about can have a glimpse at it in the video embedded at the bottom of this article, available courtesy of the guys over at PocketNow.

At the same time, the HTC HD2 for T-Mobile USA also boasts a large 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display, along with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and a 1GHz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm inside. HTC's new Sense experience is also present with the phone, along with GPS navigation, and a wide range of pre-loaded content and applications aimed at enhancing the experience the handset can deliver to T-Mobile's users, and a 16GB microSD memory card included in the package. A detailed list of T-Mobile-bound HD2 features can be seen here.

Well I hate to burst your bubble, but the HD2 will not be upgradable to WP7. There are a couple requirments the phone doesn't meet. One is that it needs 3 buttons at the bottom and not 5 (for some reason this is a big deal) and Secondly, there are numorous software issues that prevent the update. The inner hardware is capable but the above flaws take responsibilty for the lack of WP7 support.

Personally, I like WMO 6.5 and really enjoy multitasking (WP7 doesn't do this for some stupid reason). There going the same direction as iPhone. Plus, the HTC Sense UI on HD2 is far superior to WP7 software.

I hope the release is before 3/24.
