The high-end Windows Mobile 6.5-based HTC HD2 has just received a new ROM upgrade at T-Mobile USA. The device was released only recently on the carrier's airwaves, yet it seems that it is already set to offer a better experience to users. The new update, available as ROM version 2.13.531.1, has been published on HTC's support website, and those interested in installing it on their devices should head there to download the file.

While no specific details on what the new software solution includes have been provided, it seems that, among a series of fixes and improvements, the new ROM upgrade includes new applications. Those who will install the software on their HTC HD2 units should observe new “My Account” and “T-Mobile Help” icons in the Start Menu, a recent article on pocketnow reads.

The new My Account application is meant to offer T-Mobile users the possibility to take a look at the amount of minutes and text messages they've used from their plan, while also providing them with details on the plan they are on. In addition, the software solution provides users with the ability to manage their MyFaves by linking to a web page.

As for the second application now available for T-Mobile customers owning an HTC HD2, it is said to include a series of tips and tricks that should prove quite helpful for new users. Moreover, the app enables them to access the T-Mobile Forums, where they can read threads or post comments and questions. In the end, this is a T-Mobile Help application, and its name says it all.

Unfortunately, details on what other enhancements the new ROM for HD2 includes are missing at the moment. However, we should mention that the update process will erase all data on the device, and that it is a very good idea to back-up all data on the phone before proceeding, just as to make sure than no important files are lost. The new ROM upgrade is available for download from here.
