14 DAY TRIAL // HTC HD2, the hottest Windows Phone that landed on shelves in 2009, is becoming increasingly appealing these days, courtesy of its large touchscreen display, and its capabilities to boot various new mobile operating systems out there.
We already had the chance to take a look at this device running under Google's Android operating system, as well as under Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 platform, but it seems that the mobile phone can actually do more than that.
To be more specific, it can actually support Windows Phone 7-Android dual-boot, something that would certainly offer those enthusiasts out there some reasons to rejoice.
Things are not as simple as they might seem, that's for sure, but that does not mean that one would not be able to have it all up and running.
In order to make your HTC HD2 have both Windows Phone 7 and Android available for boot, you would have to install the OSes on the same microSD memory card, in a process that is described on XDA-Developers forum here.
Two cards would be required in the beginning, one on which to put bot OSes, and another one to create a partition for the Windows Phone 7 platform, it seems. One would also need to partition the microSD card, so as to put the two platforms on it.
All of the necessary instructions on the process are available on the aforementioned post on the XDA-Developers forum (via Pocketnow).
The process is quite lengthy and complicated, so those who are not familiar with this type of actions should refrain from trying it out, so as not to harm their phones.
We should also note that having unofficial software running on a phone usually voids warranty, and that those who are willing to go along with the installation would do so at their own risk.
In case your HD2 would seem more appealing with dual-boot capabilities and with the possibility to make it run either Windows Phone 7 or Android, and you want to give this dual-boot option a try, make sure that you read the said instructions carefully, so that things would go as intended.
