HTC HD2, one of the hottest mobile phones powered by Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, has already been released in a series of markets around the world and should soon land at T-Mobile in the United States, and now we can take a look at what it hides under the hood. The handset has been torn to pieces and assembled again by enthusiasts, and they also recorded the process on video and published it for your viewing pleasure.

There are two videos that emerged now with HD2, one of which shows how it can be disassembled, while the other presents the re-assembling process. As the guys over at pocketnow note, the videos present themselves as step-by-step manuals of the two processes, and there are great chances that they are actually training materials from HTC, based on the fact that the person who gets us through the procedure wears a blue lab coat, while the narration is robotic-toned.

As stated above, the HTC HD2 is one of the hottest Windows Phones on the market today, and it is expected to land in the US before the end of this month, hopefully sometime in mid-March, in case the latest rumors on the matter pan out. When compared to the already existing model on the market, the upcoming device will boast upgraded specifications, as well as a wide range of preloaded applications and services, meant to make it even more appealing to users.

However, there is still one aspect that might make users think twice before purchasing it, namely the fact that it might not receive an upgrade to the newly launched Windows Phone 7 OS from Microsoft. Although the company was cited saying that OEMs will be those to decide whether existing mobile phones will receive the new platform, a Microsoft official stated recently that no Windows Mobile 6.5 handset would taste the upgrade. It seems that the hardware specs the company put in place for Windows Phone 7 Series are the main issue here, specifically the number of buttons HD2 sports on the front.
