The latest mobile phone the Taiwanese handset maker HTC Corporation announced to come to the market with Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system on board is the HTC HD2. Sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor inside, which is clocked at 1GHz, the handset is expected to turn into the most powerful Windows Mobile phone on the market when launched.

However, although its maker said that the device would become available for purchase in October, no exact release date has been provided, and some of the latest rumors on the Internet suggest that November 11 will be the lucky day for UK mobile phone users. We already reported that Expansys listed the handset as coming to the market on that day, and now we also learn that another retailer, Clove, has also showed that it will start selling the phone on the same date.

This is one aspect that seems to have been settled already, and November 11 is almost confirmed as the launch date for the high-end HTC HD2 in the UK, at least via these retailers. Even so, it still remains to be seen when the phone will come to other markets around the globe, for this will almost certainly happen, as HTC's CEO already confirmed that the HD2 was to become a global handset.

The latest rumors on the web suggest that the device will come to the US during the first quarter of next year, and it seems that it will also come via one of the carriers in the country, namely T-Mobile. A recent post on TmoNews shows that the Windows Mobile 6.5-based device will come to the carrier, based on a shot of an internal document from the service provider, and also says that Q1 2010 is the launch window.

No official details emerged until now on either of the two rumored release time frames, yet all reports converge to the same idea, and they might pan out in the end. For what it's worth, November is not too far into the future, and a release announcement for the UK should surface really soon, yet we might have to wait a little longer before the US availability becomes official.
