Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC has recently announced the launch of its Windows Mobile 6.5-based HTC HD mini on the market in India. According to the company, the new handset, which boasts the HTC Sense solution loaded over Microsoft's mobile operating system, is capable of delivering an experience similar with that offered by the high-end HTC HD2, only that it sports a smaller form factor and a more compact design.

“The HTC HD mini fulfils a desire from some customers to bring the capabilities and experience of the HTC HD2 to a more compact design,” said Ajay Sharma, Country head, HTC India. “The integration of HTC Sense and Windows Phone on HD mini and HD2 gives customers an additional choice for an advanced Windows mobile phone that is sleek, well crafted and easy to use.”

The new mobile phone comes with a unique design, the handset vendor added. The HTC HD mini delivers enhanced usability, as well as a beautiful design, as it has been assembled using precision fasteners. The device shows a high level of craftsmanship, which continues under the battery cover with a bright yellow internal structure.

The HTC Sense solution included in the package is another appealing component of HTC HD mini. The user experience has been designed to put people at the center by making the device work in a more natural way. The solution enables the owners of an HD mini to stay close to the important people in their lives, as it provides a single contact view, delivering individual communication snapshots that include call, text, status update and email conversations.

The HTC HD mini also comes with HTC’s Windows-based Twitter application, HTC Peep, as well as with capacitive touch for viewing, zooming and resizing pictures, websites, Microsoft Office files or PDF documents. The device comes with personal Wi-Fi anywhere for compatible devices, while offering access to the Windows Marketplace for Mobile, where users can find and download various software solutions for their handset. HTC HD mini is set to become available in India via all authorized resellers at a price tag of Rs. 23,490.00.
