Recently, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation announced the launch of a new handset on the market in Australia, namely the HTC HD mini. According to the company, the new handset is already available for purchase for an RRP of $599 at Harvey Norman.

The HTC HD mini is a smartphone powered by Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system, which can offer enhanced usability, the handset vendor announced.

One of the main features of the new device is its compact design, which resembles the highly popular HTC HD2, and which is complemented by the inclusion of HTC Sense into the mix, along with a series of specific HTC solutions.

“HTC constantly assesses customer feedback, and it was with this feedback in mind that the HTC HD mini was developed to meet the needs of people who want a smartphone with a more compact design without losing key features, usability and style” said Anthony Petts, Sales and Marketing Director ANZ, HTC Corporation.

HTC's Sense experience was built around three main principles, including Make It Mine, Stay Close and Discover the Unexpected, it is simple to use, and appeals a lot to people through putting them at the center of their communications.

“The integration of HTC Sense on the HTC HD mini gives customers an additional choice for an advanced Windows Phone that is rich with features, simple to use and loaded with valuable applications,” Petts continued.

At the same time, he stressed on the fact that the HD mini is the first mobile phone the handset vendor brings to the Australian market via its partnership with Synnex.

The specs of HTC HD mini also include capacitive touch technology, support for 3.5G cellular networks, Wi-Fi connectivity options, and more.

The Windows Mobile OS the phone runs under enables it to deliver a nice range of productivity tools, including support for editing word documents or PDFs, or fast access to pictures, or emails, not to mention the possibility to download various applications via the Windows Marketplace for Mobile.

Not sure what 3.5 cellular networks contain. I'm looking for the HD Mini to run on Telstra Next G (Australia).
Does it have the specific frequency coverage?

Telstra's Next G network is the right place to look for HTC HD mini, as it does offer enhanced speeds, as any other 3.5G network would http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-Speed_Downlink_Packet_Access
