For free on a £25 per month plan

HTC HD Mini, the smaller brother of HTC HD2, is now available for purchase in the UK on the airwaves of Vodafone UK. The wireless carrier has it on sale for free upon the signing of a 24-month contract agreement on a plan that starts at £25 per month. Users choosing the device with this plan will receive 300 minutes, unlimited texts, and 500MB of mobile Internet and webmail.

The HTC HD Mini comes to the market with features similar to those available on HD2. The handset is easy to customize, while offering a great web browsing experience. It runs under Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional operating system and has the HTC Sense solution thrown into the mix, enabling users easily stay on top of chats, texts and updates from friends.

“Windows Mobile makes your HD Mini more like a PC. And with Internet Explorer, browsing on your mobile is as easy as it is at home. There's also a handy Twitter app. Need to get somewhere new? Turn to Google Maps and the built-in GPS. All this in a compact, stylish touchscreen smartphone that's built for life on the go,” the wireless carrier notes on its website.

The specifications list of HTC HD Mini includes a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that boasts a 320 x 480 pixel (HVGA) resolution, a 600 MHz processor coupled with 384 MB of RAM and 512 MB of ROM, a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, a microSD memory card slot (SD 2.0 compatible) with support for up to 32 GB of additional storage space.

On the connectivity side, the phone sports Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g), Bluetooth 2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate, micro-USB port, 3.5 mm stereo audio jack, and built-in GPS receiver. Other features and specs of the device include FM Radio, Facebook integration, HTC Peep for twittering, Opera Mobile, G-Sensor, Proximity sensor, a 1200 mAh battery and more, all packed inside a device measuring 103.8 x 11.7 x 57.7 mm and weighing in at 110 grams.
