After iPhone was launched, numerous companies developed their own touchscreen phones trying to emulate the Apple's device interface. Here we have another two possible competitors, the HTC Fuze and Samsung Mirage i907, so let's check them out.

HTC Fuze is in fact the AT&T codename for HTC Touch Pro. The device features a slide out 5-row full QWERTY keyboard that's hidden underneath the 2.8'' VGA touchscreen, it has the TouchFLO 3D finger swipe navigation interface and it's really fast in opening and closing applications as well as in changing the screen from portrait to landscape. It will be powered by a 528 MHz Qualcomm processor and it will run the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS, while its 288 RAM and 512 ROM should be enough to make it perform well under most applications.

Other features include: built-in FM radio and MP3 player, 3.15 MP camera with autofocus and flash capabilities, a secondary VGA videocall camera, and GPS receiver. It comes with Pocket Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PDF viewer) pre-installed and you can connect it to your PC either by miniUSB or by Bluetooth, since it has both of them. The release date should be the 23rd of October and the price is yet unknown.

At about the same time (October 21st), AT&T will release Samsung Mirage i907 aka Samsung Omnia, which has a 3.2'' touchscreen with handwriting recognition, and it runs the same Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, powered by a 624 MHz Marvell processor. When it comes to memory, users will get 128 MB RAM and 256 ROM, but also 8 GB/16 GB of internal memory. The latter can be expanded up to 8 GB using an SDHC microSD card.

The Pocket PC has been gifted with a 5 MP camera with autofocus, image stabilizer, video and flash capabilities, which should take pretty neat shots. The multimedia fans should know it has MP3/AAC/WMA player, but also DivX/XviD/WMV/MP4 player and TV Out, which should keep them entertained for a long time. Business fans get the usual pre-installed Pocket Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, PDF viewer) and if they need to go online, rumors are that they will have Opera 9.5 Internet browser available.

The price is somewhere between 700 and 750 US Dollars, depending on location.
