Recently launched on the market, the HTC Flyer and HTC Sensation Android devices have just been introduced in UAE

While HTC's first Android tablet, the Flyer is available for Dhs 2,999 (about $815), the Sensation can be acquired for 'only' Dhs 2,599 (about $700).

According to the Taiwanese handset manufacturer, both devices are available in major UAE retail stores starting today.

As we already mention, the Flyer is HTC's first try on Android tablets, but one of the few to be shipped without Google's Android 3.0 Honeycomb platform.

It appears that Google encountered some issues with the Honeycomb optimization for devices that are delivered with 7-inch touchscreen displays.

Given the fact that the search giant won't be deploying Honeycomb for 7-inch tablets until July-August, HTC decided to ship its first tablet with Android 2.4 Gingerbread on board.

However, an update for the Flyer will soon be deployed after Google releases the next iteration of the operating system.

Furthermore, the tablet is powered by a single core 1.5Ghz processor and packs 32 GB of internal memory, 1 GB RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

In addition, HTC Flyer is the first tablet to feature HTC Watch, the company's new video download service that offers more than 600 premium movies and TV shows from major studios.

The Sensation runs Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread along with the new and improved HTC Sense 3.0 UI.

The device is among the first to be equipped with a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon application processor, complemented by the next-generation Adreno 220 graphical processing unit.

It comes with a 4.3-inch S-LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

The smartphone packs 1 GB of internal memory, 768 MB RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB included).

The HSDPA-enabled handset boasts an 8-megapixel main camera with autofocus, dual-LED flash, image stabilization, face detection, instant capture, as well as secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.
