Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC corporation has been long rumored to be on its way to bring to the market a tablet PC that would run under Google's Android operating system, and some more leaked info on the said device started to emerge. The device, supposedly called HTC Flyer, should arrive on the market with the Android 3.0 Honeycomb, though it is currently running under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform, it seems. The smartphone is expected to land with a 7-inch touchscreen display on board, boasting a 1024 x 600 pixels resolution (the same as Galaxy Tab), a recent article on amobil reads.

According to the news site, the upcoming tablet PC would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 application processor.

The specifications list of the upcoming device would also include HSPA connectivity, with alleged support for download speeds of up to 14,4 Mbps, and for upload speeds of up to 5,76 Mbps, as well as an HDMI-connector (MHL), and DLNA capabilities.

Moreover, the tablet PC would sport a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with LED-flash and facial recognition, as well as a 1,3-megapixel camera on the front, so that users can make video calls.

Apparently, HTC might put a pre-installed version of Skype on the device, so that users would enjoy the video calling feature.

Another interesting feature of the tablet would be a new UI from HTC, one that builds on the HTC Sense UX, but modified to fit the larger screen on the new device.

Some of the latest rumors on this suggest that it might arrive on shelves as HTC Sensation, as HTC already filed trademark applications for it, and that it might even replace the HTC Sense UI on smartphones.

However, nothing was confirmed on this for the time being, and the specs of HTC Flyer, although somehow in line with what was previously rumored on it, might change too.

No confirmation on when would the tablet PC arrive on the market emerged for the time being, though previous rumors on it suggested that march might be the lucky time frame.
