HTC Evo Shift 4G is now available from both Best Buy and Amazon for just $99.99, a $50 decrease from the original price of $149.99

Best Buy's offer is available for all existing customers eligible for an upgrade, as well as to new customers who wish to join the Sprint network.

Unlike Best Buy, Amazon offers different prices for the EVO Shift 4G, depending on the type of activation. Based on that, the smartphone is available for $149.99 to upgrade eligible customers, and for as low as $99.99 for new Sprint customers.

The EVO Shift 4G is a mid-tier Android smartphone and the third 4G smartphone offered by Sprint, after HTC Evo 4G and Samsung Epic 4G were launched last year.

The device is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7630 800 MHz processor and runs on the Android 2.2 Froyo platform.

The smartphone comes with a 3.6-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 65K colors and 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

It measures 117 x 60 x 16 mm and weighs 130g (battery included), which makes it a well-balanced Android slider.

In addition to the full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the EVO Shift 4G features multi-touch input method, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, proximity sensor for auto turn-off, as well as the HTC Sense UI.

Other key features of the smartphone include Rev. A connectivity up to 3.1 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, WiMAX 802.16 e (Wi-Fi router), Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, 3.5 mm audio jack, Stereo FM radio with RDS, GPS with A-GPS support and a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and camcorder (720p).

The device packs 512 MB RAM, 2048 MB ROM, as well as a microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB included).

The 1500 mAh Li-Ion standard battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 146 hours of standby time or up to 6 hours of talk time.
