HTC did say before that it was bullish on Windows Phone 8, but we had little knowledge of what the company was planning for the platform.

Following a series of rumors on the arrival of three Windows Phone 8 devices from the company, namely HTC 8X, HTC 8S and HTC 8V, another such handset has emerged online, the HTC Elation.

The mobile phone was spotted on HTC’s own website, outed before an official release, but probably set to be formally introduced on September 19th.

The smartphone has already been removed from HTC’s website, which is seen as a confirmation of its existence and near launch. However, ubuntulife did manage to grab a screenshot of the page.

Expected to become HTC’s flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone, Elation could be the same HTC 8X that we saw on the web before, supposedly codenamed Zenith.

When launched, it would sport a quad-core 1.4GHz application processor inside, 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, and a 4.7-inch Super LCD touchscreen display capable of delivering a 720p resolution (1280 x 720).

On the back, the handset would sport an 8-megapixel photo snapper with support for full HD video recording, complemented by a 1.3MP camera capable of 720p video chat.

At the same time, the HTC Elation is expected to provide users with NFC connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, DLNA, 3.5mm audio jack, and micro-USB port.

Beats Audio technology, GPS receiver, the usual set of sensors and a 2,000mAh battery were also included in this device.

Since it is a Windows Phone 8 smartphone, the handset will also bring along all the features and enhancements that Microsoft has packed its new mobile OS flavor with.

Although it might be officially introduced this week, the HTC Elation might not hit shelves until November this year. Microsoft is rumored to launch Windows Phone 8 at the end of October, while devices are said to arrive on the market shortly after that.
