In addition to launching the first 3D-capable mobile phone on the US market, Sprint also made available for purchase the first 4G-enabled tablet PC in the country, the HTC EVO View 4G.

The new device is Sprint's own flavor of HTC Flyer, the tablet PC that landed in the US a few months ago with WiFi connectivity on board.

At sprint, the tablet PC features a price tag of $399.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier.

It was made available for purchase through all channels, including Sprint stores around the country, as well as via Sprint Business Direct Sales, Telesales, online on the wireless carrier's website, and via RadioShack and Best Buy stores.

“HTC EVO View 4G combines a wonderful tablet experience with the ability to use the optional HTC Scribe digital pen to take notes on web pages, e-books, PDF documents and more, in an easy and natural way,” Fared Adib, vice president – Product Development, Sprint, said.

HTC EVO View 4G arrives at Sprint with a 7-inch touchscreen display on the front, and with a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon application processor packed beneath it.

The new device runs under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, with the latest version of HTC Sense loaded on it, and should be upgraded to Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) soon.

“As the perfect combination e-reader, media player and portable computing device, HTC EVO View 4G offers a premium entertainment experience with HD-like quality video and a rich web-browsing experience with the ability to browse the web on Flash-enabled sites,” Sprint notes.

For a limited period of time, Sprint customers who purchase the new HTC EVO View 4G will receive the HTC Scribe digital pen at no additional cost (the pen is sold separately), as long as they commit to the said contract agreement.

“Rate plans for the HTC EVO View 4G start as low as $34.99 per month for 3GB of 3G data and unlimited 4G data usage while on the Sprint network, when bundled with an eligible handset plan. Unlimited text, picture and video messaging are included at no additional charge,” Sprint announced.

Users can also chose 3G-only plans, with optional add-on services like GPS Navigation for $2.99 per day or $9.99 per month, or the Mobile Hotspot option through which they can share the available 3G connection with up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices for only $29.99 per month.
