The update is pushed OTA (over the air), in stages

Shortly after announcing the availability of a new maintenance update for Samsung Galaxy S III, Sprint came forward with another more surprising announcement. It looks like the carrier has just pushed a new software update for the HTC EVO 4G.

Even though this is not a major update that would bring new features to the old smartphone, it’s surprising that the Taiwanese company is still interested in offering support for the EVO 4G.

Anyway, as AndroidPolice points out, this is just a mere maintenance update that adds some security enhancements and improvements.

Software version 5.07.651.6 is now pushed OTA (over the air) in phases, so not all HTC EVO 4G owners might receive it at the same time.

Those who have yet to be notified on the update can try and manually pull it onto their devices by going to Settings, / About phone / Software update.
