Although Sprint confirmed it would start shipping the HTC EVO 4G LTE beginning May 18, the carrier has been forced to delay the smartphone due to some shipments issues that it did not foresee.

Apple managed to enforce a blockade on HTC EVO 4G LTE and HTC One X models in the United States, so all shipments have been stopped at U.S. Customs.

Fortunately, the exclusion order issued by ITC has been recently lifted as HTC managed to settle all issues with the U.S. Customs.

This means that current blocked shipments will be able to pass through easily. In addition, any future shipments should not have any troubles getting through U.S. Customs.

Sprint has already started to deliver some HTC EVO 4G LTE units to customers who pre-ordered the smartphone, even though no official word on the shipments status has been issued by the Taiwanese handset maker.

Today, HTC came forward with an official statement, confirming that the company has reached an agreement with US Customs, so EVO 4G LTE and One X shipments should start pouring in the United States any moment now.

HTC has completed the review process with US Customs and HTC devices have been released, as they are in compliance with the ITC’s ruling. Future shipments should continue to enter the US and we are confident that we will soon be able to meet the demand for our products.”

Moreover, Sprint also informed its customers about the new status change, and stated that the smartphone would soon be available for purchase:

While Sprint customers who pre-ordered their HTC EVO 4G LTE received their device last week, Sprint continues to wait for our full inventory from HTC.

We recently learned that HTC devices have been released by U.S. Customs. We expect shipments of HTC EVO 4G LTE to enter the U.S. in the next few days. An exact availability date for HTC EVO 4G LTE will be communicated as soon as possible.”
