There's good news and bad news for Sprint customers who still own the HTC EVO 4G LTE. Although HTC confirmed last month this particular smartphone will receive the long-awaited Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update in mid-February, this won't happen so easily.

According to HTC USA Product Team, “given the memory partition size limit” of the HTC EVO 4G LTE, an OTA (over the air) rollout of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean won't be possible.

However, the company has confirmed it is “developing a simple process for more technical customers to update the EVO on their own.”

This means that HTC will provide EVO 4G LTE owners with the means to update their smartphones to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean as originally promised, but not as expected.

This should be easy as long as you are somewhat tech-savvy, otherwise you might be forced to stay on you current version of Android or switch to a newer device.
