Wireless carrier Sprint is set to make the HTC EVO 4G available for purchase on June 4, and it seems that it already started preparations for the upcoming event. According to the latest news around the web, the company is shipping HTC EVO 4G units to its stores around the country, and is expected to have its locations opened a little earlier on that day.

Undoubtedly, the new HTC EVO 4G is one of the greatest devices Sprint is set to bring to the market. Packed with Google's Android 2.1 operating system, the handset can offer both 3G and 4G connectivity options, offering users the possibility to enjoy much faster download speeds than ever before (in areas where WiMAX coverage is available, of course).

According to a recent post on ppcgeeks, the first HTC EVO 4G units have started to arrive in Sprint's stores, and some live photos with one of them is the proof of that. Moreover, the news site states that the wireless carrier will have most stores opened hours earlier, as it expects for a lot of people to gather for the purchase of this handset.

Pre-orders for the new device have already started at Sprint retail partners, and those interested in acquiring their own HTC EVO 4G were able to reserve one unit from Best Buy or RadioShack since last week. Hopefully, Sprint will enjoy a big hit with the release of this handset, as the last year's biggest launch, namely Palm Pre, failed to meet expectations.

HTC's latest devices already proved to be bestsellers, and various carriers around the world, including Verizon with its DROID Incredible, have had hard times keeping up with demand. The first stock of HTC EVO 4G is expected to sell out too, yet it remains to be seen whether that will happen during the first days of availability or later on. Another interesting aspect to watch should be the speed at which Sprint will be able to re-stock the device, as Verizon is currently delaying the delivery of Incredible by as much as three weeks (current shipping date is 6/10).
