HTC Desire Z, one of the latest Android-based devices that Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC launched on the market during the ongoing year, is expected to become available for purchase at Flipkart in India starting with January 3rd.

The handset is already listed on the site as available for pre-order with a price tag of Rs. 25,799 attached to it, down from Rs. 29,699.

As the guys over at androidos.in report, the handset was not announced officially in India as of now, neither did the HTC Desire HD, which is already on sale at Flipkart for Rs. 27,499.

However, since the handset is expected to be released on January 3rd, the official launch might take place on the very same day, even if HTC did not confirm the move for the time being.

The HTC Desire Z was announced officially back in September, the same day as the HTC Desire HD, being the latest generation of Android-based mobile phones from HTC.

The handset sports a 3.7-inch touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 800 pixels (WVGA) resolution, along with an 800 MHz application processor (second generation Snapdragon), and a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with HD video recording capabilities.

With 512 MB of RAM, the phone can offer enhanced performance levels. It also includes 1.5 GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space.

The new mobile phone also comes to the market with a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard, as well as with a 1300 mAh battery inside, which can offer up to 400 minutes of talk time, or up to 430 hours of standby time.

The specifications list of this device also includes Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, as well as Bluetooth 2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate, Standard micro-USB, and GPS receiver.

The HTC Desire Z is powered by Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, and offer support for a wide range of applications and services.
