The mid-range HTC Desire X has just hit shelves in some European countries and will soon be rolled out globally. One of the next countries that will get the smartphone is India.

The folks at AndroidOS report that HTC Desire X is already available for purchase on eBay for Rs 19.799 (375 USD or 290 EUR).

However, we also noticed that Indian retailer Flipkart has the HTC Desire X on “Coming Soon” as well tough we’re still waiting for a price tag and release date.

HTC Desire X is not among the most advanced Android devices available on the market, but it’s a good alternative for those who cannot afford to purchase the most expensive models. For example, the Desire X comes with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich platform out of the box.

Most high-end smartphones that are yet to be released on the market within the next few weeks come with Ice Cream Sandwich operating system on board, so it stands to reason that Desire X offers some top-notch features.

Although the processor powering the HTC Desire X is clocked at 1 GHz, it packs two cores and is complemented by an Adreno 203 graphics processing unit and 768MB of RAM.

There are only 4GB of internal memory, but the smartphone comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). Moreover, music lovers will be happy to know that the device features Beats Audio sound enhancement.

It is also worth mentioning that the mid-range Android phone sports a more than decent 4.0-inch Super LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

The 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back offers additional options such as autofocus, LED flash and video recording. The phone’s 1650 mAh Li-Ion battery should provide up to 750 hours of standby time or up to 10 hours of talk time.
