HTC Desire, the flagship smartphone of the Taiwanese manufacturer is one of the most versatile Android-based devices launched on the market. It can be customized in so many ways, rooted and unrooted, as long as you know a few tips and tricks.

Here are some of these tips that will make your experience with the Desire more enjoyable.

While listening to music, you will notice that the music controls on the lock screen will disappear after a short time.

They are set to auto-hide after a few seconds, so you will need to swipe up to bring them back.

If you want to get your feeds from Google Reader on to the HTC News application, you will need to export your Google Reader subscriptions as opml file.

Save the file onto your smartphone and rename the file extension from xml to opml. Then simply import this file into your HTC News application.

When the HTC Sense starts acting weird and it starts to force close, simply use the search key and type the first few letters for "Applications".

This is how you can access the Applications settings menu. Just go into Manage applications / HTC Sense and click on Clear data option. All Scenes will be erased, but this is much better than doing a hard reset.

There's a simple way that you can choose, which account to use when sending an email. That's if you have more than one account configured on your HTC Desire.

To select which account to send from, in the email composing screen, scroll upwards until you reach the top.

Click on the button above the “To” field and choose what account you want to use. The tip applies even if you are replying to an email.

Feel free to add more of these tips, especially if you're an advanced Android user.
