HTC Desire, the flagship smartphone of the Taiwanese manufacturer is one of the most versatile Android-based devices launched on the market. It can be customized in so many ways, rooted and unrooted, as long as you know a few tips and tricks.

Here are some of these tips that will make your experience with the Desire more enjoyable.

For those of you that are texting a lot, the word suggestion bar, which appears during text editing, can be moved by tapping, holding and dragging it.

If you want to get rid of the on-screen keyboard while you editing a text, simply press the Back key.

In case you wish to change the sound notifications with your own, you will need to copy the sounds in their specific folders in the root of the microSD memory card: Notifications, Alarms, Ringtones.

HTC Desire's Search key has multiple uses, besides its basic Google search function.

Typing a contact's name in the search field will let you access the contact's card.

To quickly launch an application, simply type in the application's name in the search field.

While in the browser's bookmarks, press the Search key, so you find what you need here.

If you want to access various stats of the phone, simply dial the following code using your dialer: *#*#4636#*#*

To hide media files like music, videos and pictures, you can put them in you own folder and add a blank text file named “.nomedia”. You can do the same thing with the default Photo or Music apps.

If you find yourself in need to soft reset the HTC Desire, the fastest and easiest way to do it is to press Power on/off key + Volume Down key + trackpad button.

Feel free to add more of these tips, especially if you're an advanced Android user.
