Mobile phone carrier Three UK has just announced the availability of a new device on its airwaves, the HTC Desire S, an Android 2.3 Gingerbread-based smartphone that was officially introduced in February during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The new device hits the shelves as the successor of the popular HTC Desire, and packs a nice range of enhancements aimed at offering an improved experience to all users.

The phone is already available for purchase via Three.co.uk, and should be released in stores starting with tomorrow, the wireless carrier announced.

“To make sure you can get the most from all the features at your fingertips, The One Plan’s all-you-can-eat data means you never have to worry about how much web browsing, videos steaming and Facebook-ing you do.”

The new mobile phone arrives on shelves with a fast 1Ghz Snapdragon application processor, complemented by a 3.7-inch touchscreen display, and a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with video recording capabilities, along with a front facing camera for video calling.

It also comes with 3G connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi, and 4GB memory, expandable up to 32GB via microSD memory card slot. Desire S measures 117.5 x 59.95 x 11.93mm.

The HTC Desire S was made available for purchase for free on the £30 a month plan, and can also be purchased on the carrier's The One Plan for £35 a month with All-You-Can-Eat Data, 2000 anytime, any network minutes, 5000 texts.

“PAYG customers can get the HTC Desire S for £359.99,” Three UK continues.

“All in One 15 costs £15 and gives 30-days access to all-you-can-eat data along with 300 any-network minutes and 3,000 texts. Or All in One 25 costs £25 and offers 500 minutes, 3,000 texts and all-you-can-eat data for a 30-day period.”
