It didn't take long for the black version of HTC Desire to go out of stock at Orange UK. The wireless carrier made the device available for purchase on its airwaves on Tuesday, and it already sold all available handsets. Those willing to grab one unit of Desire in black will have to wait a little longer before Orange replenishes the stock once again, yet no details on when that should happen emerged.

The black version of HTC Desire is available in the UK exclusively via Orange, in addition to the brown model, which landed at a wider range of carriers. However, it seems that both flavors of the phone are enjoying the same high demand on the market, as the new variant went out of stock only one day after the launch, while the brown version repeatedly sold out at most operators in the UK.

Undoubtedly, the HTC Desire is one of the hottest Android-based handsets currently available on the market, and its success among UK mobile phone users is understandable. However, it is rather interesting to learn that it keeps on running out of stock, and that its maker does not make a move to prevent that from happening again.

The Black HTC Desire is available for purchase for free on a £35 per month price plan from Orange, with a contract length of 24 months. Other options are present in the offering too, including a 24-month 'Dolphin 25' bundle that will have the Desire priced at £99, and which will deliver 300 minutes, 500MB of the internet and unlimited text messages. If purchased online, the plan will go for only £22.50 per month.

UK mobile phone users have quite a few options available for them when it comes to the Android area of the market, including the Nexus One, Desire's brother, which was put on sale not too long ago via Vodafone. Both phones register high demand in the country, helping both HTC and Android gain more ground in a market area where competition is fierce. The Black Desire can be seen at Orange here.
