Recently, wireless carrier Vodafone Australia and Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation announced officially the launch of HTC Desire HD on the carrier's airwaves in the country, and those interested in the purchase of this device can already head over to the company's website to place their orders.

Starting with a few days ago, Australian mobile phone users looking to purchase the high-end HTC Desire HD from Vodafone can place pre-orders for it on the carrier's website, while having to wait for about two weeks to receive their devices.

The Android phone comes with a $0 upfront cost, but one would have to commit to a two-year contract agreement on the carrier's $ 69 per month plan (a minimum cost over 24 months of $ 1416).

The $ 69 cap is the cheapest on which the device is available for free, but users can also choose more expensive options which, of course, would offer them additional data, texts, and other facilities.

All the necessary details on the carrier's plans on which the new HTC Desire HD is available can be found here.

As for the device itself, it comes with a wide range of high-end features packed inside, including a large 4.3-inch touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 800 pixels resolution, or a new 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon.

“The screen on the HTC Desire is vivid and crisp. So it's great for making the most of all your movies, photos, games and favorite websites,” the wireless services provider notes on its website.

Moreover, the new smartphone comes to the market with an 8 megapixels photo snapper with auto focus, LED flash and HD video recording capabilities.

Other specifications of the new device include 1.5GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The phone's specs list also include Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth connectivity options, along with GPS receiver, FM radio, and a great deal of multimedia features.

“We've put a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor in the HTC Desire. Which means, you can zip around the Internet, do lots of things at once and flick through your apps in next to no time,” the carrier also notes.
