Today, leading mobile phone maker HTC Corporation announced the launch of its new Android-based HTC Desire HD and Desire Z on the market in Asia, where they would be made available for purchase via a wide range of wireless carriers.

The new mobile phones, running under Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, sport a new version of the company's HTC Sense solution, which is complemented by the availability of an online portal, HTCSense.com.

In Asia, the new handsets should land at carriers like Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile, Far EasTone in Taiwan; SoftBank in Japan; CSL in Hong Kong; Vodafone in India and Australia; Korea Telecom in Korea; SingTel, Starhub and M1 in Singapore; Maxis in Malaysia; and Mobiphone in Vietnam.

“The support of our customer and partners inspires us to innovate and drive the user experience to a whole new level and HTCSense.com is a great example of this,” said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation.

“HTCSense.com, and the new HTC Sense user experience comprise a holistic approach we’re taking to enhancing the experience our customers have on our phones.”

According to the leading handset vendor, the new HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z are expected to becoem available for purchase on the Asian market starting with the next month.

In Taiwan, the new HTC Desire HD is set to become available at all Chunghwa Telecom and Taiwan Mobile retail stores, as well as via retailers. The HTC Desire Z should be put on sale through Far EasTone outlets, the company announced.

The price tag for the new devices has been set at NTD20,900 and NTD18,900, for HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z, respectively.

Both new smartphones run under the latest flavor of the Android OS, while packing speedy processors, large touchscreen displays, and HD video recording capabilities.

At a glance, the Desire HD comes with: 4.3” LCD display, 1GHz Qualcomm 8255 Snapdragon processor, 8-megapixel camera, MicroSD memory card slot, enhanced connectivity options, and more.

The HTC Desire Z sports a sliding design, 800MHz Qualcomm 7230 processor, 5MP camera, QWERTY keyboard, HTC Fast Boot, and other features more.
