Last week, Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC Corporation announced officially the launch of two new devices, the HTC Desire HD and the HTC Desire Z, and it seems that the Desire HD ROM was already dumped, and that someone loaded it on another high-end device from the company, namely the HTC HD2.

The HTC Desire HD is nothing else than the European version of the HTC EVO 4G, currently on sale at wireless carrier Sprint in the United States.

However, the new device comes with no 4G connectivity options on board, though still packing all of the goodies that EVO 4G came to the market with, and even more.

The aforementioned Desire HD ROM was reportedly packing Android 2.2 and HTC Sense on top of it, as well as all the functionality one would expect from the device.

And since the HTC HD 2 is nearest to its screen size and processor speed, it got the ROM loaded on it, and a video to prove all that, though it seems that the clip was already pulled off the Internet, as Engadget notes in a recent article.

However, the story with the Desire HD ROM does not end here, since it was already made available for download over the web, it seems.

Until more on this is made available, and the ROM is brought to other mobile phones out there, we should take a look the Desire HD itself, which was put to some serious benchmarking.

The new mobile phone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor inside, which seems to be performing better than expected.

According to the news, it managed to top a Quadrant score of nearly 2,000, which is much better than what Nexus One scored with Android 2.2 on board.

Since the Desire HD was announced officially only a few days ago, we should expect for more similar info on it to emerge in the near future, so stay tuned for more on this.
