14 DAY TRIAL // Mobile phone carrier Vodafone UK has just made available for purchase on its airwaves two new high-end smartphones, the HTC Desire HD and the Nokia N8. Both devices are now on sale on the carrier's website for free on various monthly plans.
The HTC Desire HD was announced last month as headed for the market with Google's Android 2.2 operating system on board, and with one of the largest display a mobile phone can boast, a 4.3-inch touchscreen.
The smartphone was originally expected to land at Vodafone UK in mid-October, but got delayed about one week.
However, UK mobile phone users interested in the purchase of this behemoth can now purchase it from Vodafone for free on Pay monthly plans from £35.
In addition to the said large display, the new handset also offers a powerful 1GHz processor, 4GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot through which one could add up to 32GB of additional storage.
The Android-based device comes with 3G connectivity options on board, as well as with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and with built-in GPS receiver, 3.5mm headphone jack, an 8-megapixel photo snapped with HD video recording, and more.
The new HTC Desire HD also sports enhanced email, messaging and social networking capabilities, while offering access to thousands of applications via the Android Market.
As for the Nokia N8, it is the first Symbian^3-based smartphone Nokia brought to the market during the ongoing year, and is now free at Vodafone UK on a plan that starts at £35 per month.
The mobile phone comes with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, complemented by a 12-megapixel photo snapper with HD video recording (Carl Zeiss lens and Xenon flash too), and 16GB of internal memory.
Additionally, Nokia packed the N8 with 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as with a micrSD memory card slot, Stereo FM radio, Built in GPS navigation, email, messaging, social networking and more.
The Nokia N8 also comes with support for a wide range of applications, available for download from the Ovi Store, and with support for great multimedia features.
