It’s not clear whether the handset will be sold in the US

HTC is focusing on the Desire smartphone lineup at CES 2015 and the Desire 320 has already been announced with a quad-core CPU, 5MP main camera and budget price.

The Taiwanese company also rolled out the Desire 826, which is a lot more impressive than the one we already talked about.

Android 5.0 Lollipop goes to live on the Desire family

For starters, it’s the first in the Desire lineup to take advantage of Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box (naturally it has HTC’s Sense UI on top of it).

Aesthetically, the Desire 826 borrows a lot of features from the HTC Desire Eye, which launched a few months back.

However, this model is a tad larger coming in with 158 x 77.5 x 7.9 mm / 6.2 x 3.05 x 0.31 inches measurements and an acceptable weight of 183 g / 0.4 lbs.

The new Desire takes advantage of a 5.5-inch display with competent 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The powerhouse pumping life into the gizmo is the 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor fitted with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory (which is expandable by virtue of memory card) and Adreno 405 GPU.

The handset has LTE connectivity, two cameras (13MP on the back with 28mm lens, BSI sensor and LED flash, 4MP UltraPixel camera in front) that take advantage of the Desire EYE suite of camera friendly feats plus an acceptable 2600 mAh battery.

The Desire 826 will be offered in different coloring options including White Birch, Blue Lagoon and Purple Fire.

HTC hasn’t said when the handset will become available for purchase, but the device has already popped up on the company’s official US website. This, however, doesn’t necessarily guarantee that the product will arrive state-side. It will certainly be offered in China, but beyond the country’s borders we don’t really know.
