The smartphone may be announced in the next few weeks

HTC is likely to debut a few more Android smartphones in the Desire family in the next few weeks and the Desire 8 is one the yet unannounced devices that will soon go official.

We have already reported on the smartphone's specs a few times, but as we're getting closer to launch more details leak online.

In this regard, @evleaks posted most of the smartphone's specs sheet. Codename HTC A5, the mid-range handset is expected to go official as HTC Desire 8.

According to these leaked details, HTC Desire 8 should be equipped with a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

In addition, the smartphone should sport a 5.5-inch Super LCD2 capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. On the back, the Desire 8 will boast a 13-megapixel photo snapper, while in the front there will be a 5-megapixel camera.

The smartphone will ship with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system with Sense 6.0 and BoomSound. It will be available in black, white, red, yellow and purple.
