We reported yesterday on the HTC Desire 8, which was leaked a few weeks ago and confirmed by the Chinese branch of the handset maker. However, HTC China did not offer any details on the the Desire 8's specs sheet and availability.

Today, HTC leaker LlabTooFeR confirmed the Desire 8 will soon be officially introduced in a few regions and he also offered some information on the smartphone's specs.

Judging by these specs, HTC Desire 8 is a mid-range Android smartphone that is likely to be popular in both emerging and more developed markets.

This is probably one of the reasons HTC decided to make it available in multiple regions, including North America, Europe, Africa and Asia.

Here are the HTC Desire 8 models and the place where they will be launched in the not so distant future: A5_CHL – CDMA/LTE – Sprint USA; A5_DUG – Dual SIM UMTS/GSM; A5_DWG – Dual SIM CDMA/GSM; A5_UL - UMTS/LTE – Europe, Africa, Asia, ATT (USA); A5_TL - TD-LTE China – China.

Keep in mind that these models may be slightly different in terms of specs, depending on the market. For the time being, let's see what the basic specs sheet of the Desire 8 looks like.

According to LlabTooFeR, HTC Desire 8 will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM.

In addition, the smartphone is said to boast a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.

On the back, HTC Desire 8 packs an impressive 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera.

The mid-range smartphone will come with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, as well as on-screen buttons. HTC Desire 8 will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box and Sense 6.0 UI on top.
