14 DAY TRIAL // Taiwanese handset maker HTC released quite a few mid-range Android smartphones in the last couple of months. That's quite an achievement considering HTC stated not too long ago that it would focus its lineup on high-end smartphones.
Nevertheless, the latest addition to its portfolio of mid-range Android smartphones is Desire 626, which was recently introduced in Taiwan.
HTC Desire 626 is a decent smartphone that won't stand out when it comes to specs, but judging by the press images, it's quite the looker. The smartphone will be available in blue and white in Taiwan for around $190, but HTC will launch the Desire 626 in other countries as well.
Apparently, @upleaks is back with inside info from carriers and handset manufacturers and the next tip we got concerns the HTC Desire 626.
It looks like HTC Desire 626 will be making its way to Sprint, but it will only be available on prepaid, which is not a bad thing considering its low price.
Info on release date and price tag has yet to be revealed
Speaking of which, no details on price tag and exact release date have been leaked yet, but the US version of Desire 626 should be much more expensive than the Taiwanese model. It's likely that the phone will be priced at $200, but take this as pure speculation.
Moving on to specs, HTC Desire 626 is powered by Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and comes equipped with a 64-bit, 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor.
The smartphone packs 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.
Last but not least, the Desire 626 sports a 5-inch HD (720p) capacitive touchscreen display, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, a secondary 5-megapixel front-facing camera and LTE support.
The smartphone is powered by a 2000 mAh battery and there's no word whether or not HTC will ever update the Desire 626 to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
