The smartphone is offered at $199.99 (€149) contract-free

AT&T’s customers interested in the purchase of a new, very affordable smartphone on the carrier’s network can now buy the HTC Desire 610 smartphone, which went up for sale at only $0.99 with the signing of a two-year contract agreement.

Those of you who would rather purchase the new smartphone without a contract will be able to do so as well, though you will have get $199.99 (€149) out of your pockets for the device.

Despite the fact that it is a cheap handset, the HTC Desire 610 still has a lot to offer to its users in terms of specs and features.

The mobile phone was released with a 4.7-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering an FWVGA (480 x 854 pixels) resolution, while being powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor.

Moreover, the handset sports 1GB of RAM inside, which should ensure pretty decent performance capabilities at all times.

“The HTC Desire 610 has it all–brains and brawn. With a large 4.7" HD display and quad-core processor, the Desire 610 keeps you connected while maximizing your productivity,” AT&T notes.

HTC has packed the smartphone with 8GB of internal memory, which can also be expanded by up to 64GB, courtesy of a microSD memory card slot.

On the back, HTC Desire 610 sports an 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash, which is also capable of recording videos in full HD (1080p) resolution.

At the same time, the mobile phone arrives on the market with a 1.3MP front camera with BSI sensor, which should provide an appealing experience when it comes to making video calls while on the go.

The specs list of this device also includes support for AT&T’s 4G-LTE network (Bands 2, 4, 5, and 17), along with HSPA+: 850/1900/2100MHz connectivity.

Additionally, it comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities, as well as with Wi-Fi Hotspot capabilities, with support for up to 8 devices.

HTC Desire 610 is powered by a 2040mAh battery that can deliver up to 15.8 hours of talk time or up to 27 days of standby time. It also features various HTC-specific specs, such as dual front-facing stereo speakers with built-in amps for a great audio experience.

In addition to HTC BoomSound, the handset also sports HTC Blinkfeed and HTC Zoe. It arrives on shelves with the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system loaded on top right from the start.
